Pambuoy is a product which developed from a spin out company from the University of St Andrews. SMRU Ltd was set up to “commercialise” a good idea born among scientists – a seal tagging system which tracked these underwater mammals as they swim across the oceans. Pambuoy is the next level of monitoring ceteceans – an acoustic monitoring system which can detect whales and dolphins and their movements –useful when you are building bridges, and harbours and have to comply with Marine Legislation for the protection of sea mammals. Our PR work put Pambuoy and its founders on television news and in key press which drives up business for sales and rentals of this unique science product.
