BBC's Catriona Shearer to host Borders business event

Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir will join a group of entrepreneurs taking part in the second Fusion Linking Entrepreneurs “Going 4 Growth” event in Newtown St Boswells on 6th October 2010. This free event for local business people in rural Scotland, from across the Scottish Borders is to be hosted by BBC Scotland news presenter Catriona Shearer.  

 

Organised by Fusion, Linking Entrepreneurs project and supported by Scottish Enterprise and the European Social Fund, this dynamic event promises to inspire and motivate delegates attending. It takes place at Tweed Horizons, from and including breakfast at 8am, till just before 3pm and includes lunch and refreshments. 

Also taking part will be Borders businesswoman Rosamund de la Hey, formerly of Bloomsbury Publishing who is now running her own award winning business - The Main Street Trading Company, in St Boswells who will be one of a panel of successful business people to be quizzed by our chairman.    Organiser Adam Webster from Fusion says: “This event will be very much about giving encouragement and support to ambitious business owners across the south of Scotland to help them take their businesses forward and enable them to come away with invaluable information and ideas. More than 80 delegates took part in our first event in Dumfries earlier this year which was a huge success.”

 

Linking Entrepreneurs, the project behind this event is a groundbreaking initiative funded by Scottish Enterprise and the European Social Fund, and delivered by Fusion (Scotland) Ltd. The project exists to create a more innovative, ambitious and entrepreneurial culture in the south of Scotland. Small group meetings are held year round to address key issues faced by businesses in today’s economic climate. Fusion’s role is to provide the forum, the environment and the catalyst which enables local business people to meet and discuss their challenges ideas, problems and successes.
